Number 50 on the 2025 list
Thomas Njeru is a co-founder and CEO from Kenya, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for building Kenya's climate insurance pilot covering about 250,000 farmers.
On 21 July 2025 Kenya launched a climate insurance pilot built with Pula, the company Thomas Njeru co-founded and leads as CEO. Farmers in 11 counties are enrolled automatically when they collect subsidised fertiliser, covering about 250,000 farmers for up to KSh 7,000 each, the cost of two bags. Njeru said it was designed to shield smallholders from climate threats. Ag Safari ranked Pula's US$10.4 million raise among 2025's six largest African agtech deals.
