Number 49 on the 2025 list
Samuel Muyita is a founder from Uganda, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for winning the US$50,000 GoGettaz grand prize for sachets that keep produce fresh longer.
On 4 September 2025, at the Africa Food Systems Forum in Dakar, Samuel Muyita won the male US$50,000 grand prize of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize, chosen from more than 2,000 entries. His company, Karpolax, makes affordable, non-toxic sachets using patented green nanotechnology that extend the shelf life of fruit and vegetables, cutting the post-harvest losses that eat into farmers' and traders' incomes.
