On 6 December 2025 Raja'atu Muhammed Ibrahim, who posts as @diaryofanortherncook, won Creator of the Year, the overall top prize at the TikTok Awards Sub-Saharan Africa in Johannesburg. She documents northern Nigerian cuisine on TikTok. Her win, over creators from every category and across the region, put a regional Nigerian food tradition at the top of the continent's biggest creator awards.
