Omer Al Tijani is a chef from Sudan, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for publishing The Sudanese Kitchen, more than 100 recipes from across Sudan.
In mid 2025 British Sudanese chef and food archivist Omer Al Tijani published The Sudanese Kitchen, more than 100 recipes from across Sudan, through the Almas Art Foundation, with the World Food Programme and DAL Food Group as sponsors. Raised in Bahri and Khartoum and living in the UK, he calls the book a small act of resistance against the erasure of Sudanese culture and a counter to negative images of his country.
