Michael Sunbola is a founder and executive director from Nigeria, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for hosting the Africa Food Bank Conference in Lagos and winning AFIA's Community Impact Award.
From 17 to 20 November 2025 Michael Sunbola's Lagos Food Bank Initiative hosted the Global FoodBanking Network's Africa Food Bank Conference, with food banks from ten other African countries. The network also gave his food bank a global certification covering food safety, sourcing and governance. He called for tax incentives and laws to encourage food donations, and AFN's own AFIA 2025 awards gave him their Community Impact Award.
