Marks Thibela is a CEO from South Africa, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for graduating 164 learners from CATHSSETA's Chef Artisan Programme.
Marks Thibela is CEO of CATHSSETA, South Africa's skills authority for culture, arts, tourism, hospitality and sport. In May 2025 it graduated 164 learners from its Chef Artisan Programme, at ceremonies in Durban on 16 May and Sandton on 28 May. They came from five provinces and received the Occupational Chef Qualification at NQF Level 5 after three years of training. Thibela spoke of the programme's role in tackling unemployment.
