Aji Akokomi is a founder from Nigeria, named to the AFN 100 in 2025 for taking Akoko to 52nd in the UK's National Restaurant Awards top 100.
In June 2025 Akoko, the West African restaurant Aji Akokomi opened in London in 2020, ranked 52nd in the UK's National Restaurant Awards top 100, one of three Nigerian-led restaurants on the list with Ikoyi and Chishuru. Akoko also stayed in the Michelin Guide's 2025 Great Britain and Ireland results. Akokomi, a British Nigerian restaurateur, built the menu around his family recipes and travels.
