Under Adugna Debela, Director General of the Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, Ethiopia set coffee export records in 2025. In the first ten months of the 2024/25 fiscal year it shipped 354,302 tons, up 70%, earning US$1.87 billion, up 30%, and he credited coordination among producers, cooperatives, exporters and government. By late June the authority put eleven-month earnings at US$2.44 billion from 409,000 tonnes.
