Sidwell Tshingilane is an organiser from South Africa, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for growing the Soweto Kota Festival to its seventh edition with about 100 stalls.
Sidwell Tshingilane organises the Soweto Kota Festival, which celebrates the kota, a township street food. The 7th annual Blue Ribbon Soweto Kota Festival was set for 7 September 2024 at the Fun Valley Pleasure Resort in Olifantsvlei, a move made because the event had grown, with about 100 stalls planned. He told EWN they started it about six years earlier to take the kota business to the next level and to celebrate township culture.
