Pierre Thiam is a chef from Senegal, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for his induction into the James Beard Foundation's Cookbook Hall of Fame.
In June 2024 the James Beard Foundation inducted Pierre Thiam into its Cookbook Hall of Fame. That January, South Africa's Daily Maverick reviewed his book Simply West African, written with Lisa Katayama. Senegalese-born and based in California, he is also the author of Yolele!, Senegal and The Fonio Cookbook, and runs Yolélé Foods, which works with smallholder producers to build an international market for fonio.
