Perteet Spencer is a co-founder from Liberia, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for growing AYO Foods' frozen West African food to more than 20 retailers.
A September 2024 FoodNavigator profile reported that AYO Foods, the frozen West African food brand Perteet Spencer co-founded, had grown from 200 retail doors to more than 20 retailers, including Sprouts and Target, and had launched Mini Pies with chicken, vegetable, fish and beef fillings. Her father immigrated from Liberia and in the 1970s started an import business in the Twin Cities that became the roots of the brand.
