Moses Moloi is a chef from South Africa, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for opening Gigi, his first restaurant, and earning two knives from The Best Chef Awards.
Moses Moloi opened Gigi in Waterfall City, Johannesburg, in 2024, his first restaurant, billed as contemporary South African cooking with Japanese, South American and European influences. Trained under Peter Tempelhoff and David Higgs, he brought his oxtail vetkoek over from Zioux, now served with morogo. In November 2024 The Best Chef Awards gave him two knives, one of only three South African chefs at that level.
