Number 12 on the 2024 list
Mohamed Cheikh is a chef from Algeria, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for opening Meïda, his own Mediterranean brasserie in Saint-Ouen, after years of short-term projects.
Mohamed Cheikh, who won Top Chef France in 2021, opened Meïda in Saint-Ouen in 2024, a Mediterranean brasserie described as a project of his own. Born in Montreuil to a family of Algerian origin, he had spent the years after his win on short-term projects, including the Manzili pop-up at the Jardin des Plantes. Meïda's menu runs from zaatar hummus to orange blossom rice pudding, with bissap among the house drinks.
