Margaret Nyamumbo is a founder and CEO from Kenya, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for taking Kahawa 1893 into Keurig Dr Pepper's K-Cup pods.
In July 2024 Keurig Dr Pepper began selling Kahawa 1893 in K-Cup pods, taking Margaret Nyamumbo's coffee brand to a much wider US audience. Kenyan-born and a third-generation coffee farmer, she worked on Wall Street before founding the company, which sources from cooperatives in Kenya, Rwanda and Congo and runs tipping and scholarship programmes for the women who grow its coffee.
