Number 94 on the 2024 list
Mabouba Diagne is a minister of agriculture from Senegal, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for becoming Senegal's agriculture minister and warning it imports 70% to 80% of its food.
Mabouba Diagne was named Senegal's Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock on 5 April 2024 in Ousmane Sonko's new government, after serving as a vice-president of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development. Weeks later he warned that Senegal imports 70% to 80% of its food, worth more than 1,070 billion CFA francs a year, and that its self-sufficiency in cereals stood at only 57%.
