Josefa Sacko is an african union commissioner for agriculture from Angola, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for opening the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit in Nairobi.
As African Union Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment, Josefa Sacko opened the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Summit in Nairobi on 7 May 2024. She told delegates that since the 2006 Abuja Declaration fertiliser use in Africa had risen only from about 8 kg to under 25 kg per hectare, far short of the 50 kg target. The summit was set to produce a Nairobi Declaration and a ten-year action plan.
