Fariyal Abdullahi is a chef de cuisine from Ethiopia, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for becoming a James Beard Emerging Chef finalist for her cooking at Hav & Mar.
Fariyal Abdullahi, who is from Ethiopia, was one of the finalists for Emerging Chef at the 2024 James Beard Awards, announced in April 2024. The nomination recognised her work as chef de cuisine at Hav & Mar, a restaurant in New York. The award went to Masako Morishita in June 2024, but the nomination put Abdullahi on the national shortlist for one of the best-known US awards for a rising chef.
