Waiting for a cook
Burundi
Ibiharage means "beans" in Kirundi, and the dish is exactly that: beans boiled until soft, then fried with plenty of sliced onion, garlic and chilli in oil, palm oil where it is available. Beans are the main protein in Burundi and this is how most households eat them, with boiled green bananas (ibitoke), cassava, ugali or rice. It is often called the national dish, and Rwanda cooks the same thing under the same name.
The draft was written from 3 published sources and holds 9 ingredients and 5 steps. It has never been cooked by anybody at AFN, which is why it is waiting.
