Waiting for a cook
Ghana
Gari fortor is Ghana's quick meal from the cupboard: gari (toasted cassava grains) moistened with a little water and tossed through a thick, well-seasoned tomato sauce with eggs, and often with sardines, corned beef, dried shrimp or smoked fish. It is a boarding-school and student dish, a Sunday-evening dish and a road-trip dish, ready in half an hour. "Fortor" is Ewe for mixing up, and the dish is credited to the Volta region.
The draft was written from 3 published sources and holds 10 ingredients and 7 steps. It has never been cooked by anybody at AFN, which is why it is waiting.
