Waiting for a cook
Somalia
Cambuulo (ambulo, digir) is the Somali pot of adzuki beans boiled soft with cracked white corn, soft wheat, sorghum or rice, and eaten with a spoon of sugar and a generous pour of sesame oil, sometimes with milk on the side. It is supper on the ordinary night and the dish carried to the dugsi when a child finishes a section of the Qur'an, when it comes dressed with toor: fried whole coffee beans, corn nuts, sugar, oil, raisins and sweets. Beans with rice is nicknamed "federation". Plain, filling and cheap, and beloved for exactly that.
The draft was written from 2 published sources and holds 6 ingredients and 5 steps. It has never been cooked by anybody at AFN, which is why it is waiting.
