Marcus Samuelsson is a chef and founder from Ethiopia, named to the AFN 100 in 2024 for seeing Marcus Addis, his Addis Ababa restaurant, named Ethiopia's Best Restaurant.
Ethiopian-born Marcus Samuelsson opened Marcus Addis on the 47th floor of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia headquarters in Addis Ababa in December 2023, and in 2024 the World Culinary Awards named it Ethiopia's Best Restaurant. Its menu mixes Ethiopian dishes such as kitfo and doro wot with global influences, and Ethiopian designers shaped the room. He told Semafor in January 2024 he wanted it to create jobs and build skills.
