Ruth Lorivi Moirana, researcher; 2024 L'Oréal-UNESCO for women in science young talent (Tanzania), figure dans l’AFN 100 2024 pour her L'Oréal-UNESCO award for a biofertiliser for soils contaminated by industrial chemicals.
Ruth Lorivi Moirana, a postdoctoral researcher in material science at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Tanzania, was one of 30 laureates chosen from 788 applications for the 2024 L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Young Talents awards for Sub-Saharan Africa, presented in Cotonou, Benin, on 10 December 2024. She was honoured for developing a biofertiliser for soils contaminated by industrial chemicals, to help farmers raise their yields.
