Owho is the yellow soup of the Urhobo and their Delta neighbours: assorted meat, dried fish and snails in a broth thickened with garri and starch, coloured and enriched with palm oil that has been curdled with potash into a thick yellow paste. It smells of uda, crayfish and native oil, and it is eaten with boiled yam, plantain or, most of all, Delta starch and yellow garri. It is a dish that older Urhobo cooks judge each other by.
