African Food Network is a food media platform documenting African cooking: recipes, the people who cook them, and where the dishes come from. It publishes in English and French, and it runs two events, AFDF and AFSE UK.

• Recipes are credited. Contributors are Africooks, a status that is applied for and reviewed, and their name goes on every dish they contribute.
• A recipe is reviewed before it is published, and the country it is attributed to is a decision, not free text.
• We publish corrections rather than quietly editing, and we do not delete a piece to make an error disappear.

The rules we hold ourselves to are published in our editorial standards, and the people who guide what we publish are listed on the advisory council page.

African Food Network on first mention, AFN after that. Africook is one word, capitalised, and it means a verified contributor rather than a cook in general.

AFDF is the African Food and Drink Festival. AFSE UK is the African Food Summit and Expo, and it is a summit, not a festival. The two are different events with different programmes, and calling AFSE a festival is the mistake we correct most often.

Please use them as they are. Do not recolour them, stretch them, add effects, or set the wordmark against a background it was not drawn for. If you need a format we have not put here, ask.
