Pour the flour in a big bowl, add baking powder, sugar. Mix well and then add the butter/margarine. Mix thoroughly with your hands until it looks like fine bread crumbs.
If you will be using eggs, beat the eggs and set aside.
Add your whisked eggs and mix together.
Gently pour in the milk with the Essence and work into it bring it all together thereby forming pliable dough.
Put flour on your clean board and place the chunk of the dough and roll out.
Cut the dough into any shape you want and place the cut outs into a bowl, knead and repeat the process till the whole dough is used up.
Place the pan with vegetable oil on the cooker to heat up the oil.
Fry the chin chin dough in batches, make sure u don't crowd the pan.
Make sure the chin chin is done, once it turns golden brown, transfer into a sieve or paper towel and leave to cool at room temperature.
